The original walk-in closet in the Master Bedroom was demolished to make for more efficient use of space. The closet was relocated to one of the room walls without losing any storage capacity but reducing circulation and creating a larger room.

The original stairs that delivered directly into the master bedrooms were removed and replaced with a new stair - arranged in the opposite direction - now landing in front of the terrace and creating more privacy to the Master Bedroom. The new stair was made in cast-in-place concrete, and storage for a linens closet was provided underneath. Upon switching the stairs, it became possible to convert an open studio into a second bedroom with a full bathroom. The windows were also modified to have independent access to the terrace.

In the upper level, an existing peninsula kitchen was demolished and replaced with a new kitchen island to open the space and connect with the dining room. Using a uniform palette, built-in casework was added to the living room where the owner keeps her vinyl records collection.
